India Association of Greater Springfield
The objectives of the India Association of Greater Springfield
are to serve and provide religious, educational and charitable
activities in an effort:
- To promote Indo-American friendship
and goodwill;
- To help create an environment conducive
to preservation and promotion of rights and welfare
of Asian Indian Americans;
- To provide an effective forum
for activities
conducive to maintaining and enhancing the knowledge
of the Indian community of the social, cultural and
educational heritage of India and her people;
- To help
promote
the
interest and welfare of the people of Indian origin
in
Springfield
and surrounding areas; and
- To provide an opportunity
for members, of all religions and sects, to pray,
worship and
meditate; observe religious programs and festivities;
to acquaint members, visitors and the community
with the religious
traditions of India; to allow members to organize
religious activities to explore and understand various
aspects
of India's religions and culture; and to offer
members a safe
and serene
place to pursue religious activities and attend
and participate in religious programs.
